Hang Check was created by a female inventor with a career in fashion, costume and wardrobe. Initially, the product was developed for use exclusively in the Entertainment, Fashion, and Theatrical Industries with one main goal in mind, to design a product that could effectively secure valuable hanging garments while moving or transporting.

Industry Professionals wheel and roll racks to and from various locations, always challenged by the inability to ensure that hanging garments won’t fall off! This particular concern sparked a mission to devise one practical, sustainable, readily available alternative solution for the Industry. Imagine, we travel far, far into space but we cant keep our hangers in place?

To clarify here’s a little background: Previously, when Industry Professionals transported garments on rolling racks they used various miscellaneous materials applied over or around hangers to ensure garments stay hung while moving. Often used to secure hangers were one or a combination of the following items: tape, foam, velcro, rope, zip ties, and other messy wasteful time consuming applications. No to mention, placing TAPE over hanger hooks, horrible idea but, often done!

After extensive research, prototyping and testing, Hang Check...Hang Stabilize and Go, was brought to market. Quickly it became a dependable alternative for Industry Professionals, it works, is easy to use, and is a greener, more economical substitute. Check.

“NO more tape, foam, velcro, zip ties, rope or lots of people power to apply any of it!

Hang Check attaches quickly (simple solution),

is clean, and designed for repeated use (economical).

ABOUT the Inventor of Hang Check

Originally from Ohio, Clara Ronk moved to New York City in the late 1990’s, when her career began as a Fashion Stylist. Not long after arriving she began working with a photographer creating photos for “New Faces” , a model agency division or “board” for young models recently signed to Elite, Ford and Wilhelmina agencies. All models needed specific photos for each new agency book. At the time, there was a big push for film to be developed, edited, approved and photo “selects” to submit by a print deadline for the seasonal distribution of an agency book. “Every potential client had the agency book, every model wanted to have their best look represented in the book. “It was how they got bookings!” “Of course now, we are 100% digital!” says Clara.

As her worked progressed, an Elite agency booker started recommending Clara to their print clients for ad campaigns and catalogue bookings. From there, her career grew into work as a full-time freelance stylist and later full time at McGraw Hill Publishing producing photoshoots and managing wardrobe shop and props department.

Soon after began the demise of the entire print industry circa 2008 when companies began transitioning into online and digital formats, which created a huge lull in business. This is when Clara began working in retail merchandising. and marketing in Brooklyn and NYC. Later on her first indie film industry. She has costumed indie films and several successful short film projects, some of which were an official selection in various prestigious film festivals. In 2012, Clara joined IATSE Local 764, the New York City chapter of the Theatrical Wardrobe Union, and began working as the Head of Wardrobe at the Barclays Center and on several Broadway and TV shows.

Working in television and film production led Clara to have the idea for Hang Check.

Many TV and film productions are required to transport wardrobe to and from the Wardrobe Department to various locations and back again.“Each production had an idea how to do this. I have seen Departments use tape, Velcro, rope and, zip ties” says Clara.

“Then, while working backstage on live performances at Barclays Center, I noticed how often while traveling with road cases the artists costumes didn't stay hung. The final straw was when Bette Midler performed her last U.S. show at Barclays in Brooklyn, New York.”

“After the show, we packed her road cases, which contained very expensive and delicate designer costumes. The cases were headed to London for her last two concerts in the tour. To my astonishment, the  hangers her costumes were hanging on were actually taped down with gaffers tape to the hangrod!  That was the clincher moment for me. Chiffon, sequins and gaffers tape, all in one case waiting to cross the Atlantic. Yikes!! This pivotal moment confirmed the idea for Hang Check.”

Yes, Hang Check is a good idea!!
